Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the technical manual service at this site. By signing in or using the service, you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of an employer, you confirm you are authorised to bind them, and "you" means both of you.
What the service is
Southeast Military Equipment LLC ("we") hosts interactive technical manuals and, where you have bought it, a Diagnostic Assistant that answers questions from a library of maintenance documents. Access is per account and is granted manual by manual, at a maintenance level, by us.
We are a reseller and host of this material. We do not author it, and we do not warrant that it is current, complete, or fit for any particular repair. The manual is a reference, not a substitute for a qualified technician, the equipment owner's own procedures, or applicable safety requirements. Verify anything safety-critical against the governing authority for your equipment before you act on it.
Your account
- Anyone can create an account, free, at /signup. A new account holds nothing. It reaches no manual, no maintenance level and no assistant until you subscribe to something or we grant it — so registering gives you an empty library, not access to this material.
- You must give a real email address, and the details you enter about yourself and your equipment must be accurate. We may close an account opened with false information.
- Your credentials are personal to your account and must not be shared. One account is one person. If several technicians need access, each needs an account; tell us and we will price it.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been used by someone else.
- We may suspend an account that is being shared, that is extracting content in bulk, or that is in breach of what you may do with the content or distribution markings and export control. Where the breach is accidental and correctable we will normally contact you first.
Subscriptions, payment and cancellation
- Manuals and assistant access are sold as recurring subscriptions, billed in advance for each period at the price shown when you subscribe.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe's terms apply to the payment itself.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it.
- You can cancel at any time, yourself, from the Subscriptions page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate part of a period.
- Refunds: if you are not satisfied, tell us within 14 days of your first charge for a given product and we will refund it in full, no reason needed. After that window, and for renewal charges, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise or where we have failed to provide the service.
- Prices may change. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a change affects a renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
- If a payment is reversed or disputed, access bought with it is withdrawn.
What you may do with the content
While your subscription is live, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to view the manuals you are entitled to, and to print individual work packages, for maintenance and repair work of the kind your account tier covers. That is the whole of the licence.
Account tiers
You choose one when you register, and it sets both the rate you pay and the work the licence covers. The content is identical at every tier — the same manuals, the same pages, the same downloads. What differs is what you may do with them:
- Hobbyist or private owner. Your own vehicles, maintained by you. Not for paid repair work carried out for anyone else.
- Repair shop or fleet maintainer. Paid repair and maintenance work on customers’ vehicles, or on a fleet you maintain.
- Rebuilder or reseller. Rebuilding, remanufacturing or reselling vehicles and components, including work sold on to other shops.
Only we can change the tier on an account. If your work changes, tell us and we will move it; a change takes effect on your next subscription, since we cannot re-price one that is already running. Using the manuals for work outside the tier you chose is a breach of these terms, and it is a matter of honesty rather than of technology — nothing in the software prevents it, and we have not pretended otherwise.
You may not:
- republish, resell, sublicense, lend or otherwise distribute the content, in whole or in part;
- systematically download, scrape, mirror or bulk-extract it, whether by hand or by automated means;
- use it to build or train a competing product, index or model;
- remove, obscure or alter any mark, notice or distribution statement it carries;
- attempt to bypass the access controls, or access content your account has not been granted.
We keep all rights not expressly granted here. Your right to the content ends when your subscription does.
Distribution markings and export control
Some of this material carries distribution statements, and some carries export-control notices. We record and display those markings on the pages that bear them.
Complying with them is your responsibility. Our granting you access does not determine whether you are permitted to receive, hold, or pass on a given document — that depends on who you are, where you are, and what the marking says. In particular, you agree not to export, re-export or otherwise make available any export-controlled content to any person or destination where doing so would breach applicable export-control law, including but not limited to the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
If you are unsure whether you may hold a document, do not open it — contact us at support@southeastmilitaryequipment.com.
Marking and access logging
So that you know, plainly:
- Pages, diagrams and printed output you are served carry a mark identifying your account. A copy that leaves this service can be traced back to the account it was served to.
- We log access — which account opened which work package, when, and from what address. See the Privacy Policy for how long we keep it.
Both exist to make leaks attributable and bulk extraction visible. They are not surveillance of your work, and we do not sell or share this data; the Privacy Policy lists exhaustively who receives what.
The Diagnostic Assistant
The assistant answers questions using a large language model, from a library of maintenance documents. Two things to understand about it:
- It can be wrong. It summarises and cites source pages, and those citations are the authority — not the summary. Treat an answer as a pointer to the page, and read the page.
- Your questions leave our servers. They are sent to Anthropic to be answered. Do not put anything into it you are not willing to send to a third-party processor — see the Privacy Policy.
Assistant access is a separate purchase from any manual subscription, and may be sold either as a whole-library subscription or as one or more content pools. What you are answered from is what you have bought.
Availability
We aim to keep the service available, and we do not promise it will be. There is no uptime guarantee in these terms. We may take it down for maintenance, and we will try to do so outside working hours where we can. We may change or discontinue features; if we withdraw a manual you subscribe to, we will refund the unused part of the period.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service and the content are provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss arising from work performed in reliance on the content. Our total liability arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using the service at any time and cancel as described under subscriptions, payment and cancellation. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, for non-payment, or where we are legally required to. On termination your licence ends and your access stops; the sections on the licence, export control, marking and access logging and liability survive.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before it applies to you, and you may cancel before then. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, and the courts of the State of Georgia, USA have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
